
Adrian Cunningham is an archivist and librarian who has worked in a variety of roles for State and National libraries and archives in Australia for almost 40 years. This includes 13 years at the National Archives of Australia and six years as the Director of Digital Archives at Queensland State Archives. He has published widely on a range of topics including the management of personal records, digital recordkeeping, archival description, metadata and appraisal. He is a past President and Fellow of the Australian Society of Archivists, Fellow of the International Council on Archives and recipient of the Emmett Leahy Award for contributions to records management. He has been involved in national and international standards development for over 25 years. Currently he is Head of the Australian Delegation to ISO TC46/SC11 (Archives and Records Management) and is Convenor of that Committee's working group on metadata (WG1).
